De­spite promis­es on Thurs­day that the Cabo Star,the In­ter Is­land car­go ves­sel would sail, this did not hap­pen. Checks with the Port of Port of Spain on Fri­day morn­ing in­di­cat­ed that the ves­sel did not sail be­cause of a faulty ramp that is be­ing re­paired.

Scores of truck­ers have spent up to 24 hours at the Port wait­ing to leave.

The last time the ves­sel sailed was last Sun­day.

Some To­ba­go busi­ness­men have sug­gest­ed that the In­ter Is­land Fer­ry ser­vice should ex­plore the op­tion of hav­ing the ves­sel leave Trinidad at the Port of Point Lisas in­stead of Port of Spain.
