Trade union leader Vincent Cabrera has been appointed to the Industrial Court.
The president of the Banking, Insurance and General Workers Union was among six people named to serve at the court.
Attorney General Faris Al-Rawi confirmed the appointment during a press conference at the Attorney General and Legal Affairs tower on Monday.
Cabrera joins Angela Hamel-Smith, Indira Rampersad-Suite, Elizabeth Solomon and Nizam Khan in the general services division.
Al-Rawi also confirmed that current Industrial Court member Lawrence Achong was reinstated as head of the Essential Services Division.
Chief Executive officer of the North West Regional Health Authority Wendy Ali was also named as a member of that Division.
Al-Rawi said the appointments represented a balance as it involved people with backgrounds in the Chamber of Commerce, the trade union movement, and the Public Service.
The Attorney General said the appointments were made to deal with vacancies in the interim but said the Government was still considering amendments for the Industrial Court.
