Officers of the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service have destroyed a cannabis plantation during a targeted anti-crime exercise under Operation Trident (West End) in the Western Division.
In a media release yesterday, the TTPS said between 11 am and 2.30 pm on Sunday, January 4, officers acting on information proceeded on foot along a track off Salandy Street, Diego Martin, covering approximately one mile of steep terrain.
During the exercise, officers discovered a plantation with around 200 fully grown and juvenile cannabis plants.
The plants were uprooted and destroyed by fire.
The operation involved officers from the Western Division Gang Intelligence Unit, West End Criminal Investigations Department, and the West End Charge Room. It was sanctioned by Senior Superintendent Williams and led by Superintendent Gyan and W/Assistant Superintendent Aguellera.
Coordination was provided by Inspectors Grant and Perry, with supervision from Corporals Garcia, Khan, and Acting Corporal Joseph, alongside a team of dedicated officers.
