Police recovered five spent shells belonging to the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service at the scene of a murder early yesterday morning.
According to police reports, Minford Alick, of Jokhan Trace, Carapo, was found dead at a gas station at the corner of Eastern Main Road and Golden Grove Road, Arouca. Police said around 1:38 am officers of the Arouca Police Station were called to the scene and arrived seven minutes later. There, they interviewed workers of a nearby fast-food restaurant who told them they heard gunshots and later found the man dead.
While processing the scene, officers found five 9mm shells with TTPS marking. They also recovered 28 nine-millimetre spent shells, including 16 CBC Luger shells, and seven WIN Luger shells.
Investigators have labelled Alick’s murder as gang-related. —Jensen La Vende
