Po­lice re­cov­ered five spent shells be­long­ing to the Trinidad and To­ba­go Po­lice Ser­vice at the scene of a mur­der ear­ly yes­ter­day morn­ing.

Ac­cord­ing to po­lice re­ports, Min­ford Al­ick, of Jokhan Trace, Cara­po, was found dead at a gas sta­tion at the cor­ner of East­ern Main Road and Gold­en Grove Road, Arou­ca. Po­lice said around 1:38 am of­fi­cers of the Arou­ca Po­lice Sta­tion were called to the scene and ar­rived sev­en min­utes lat­er. There, they in­ter­viewed work­ers of a near­by fast-food restau­rant who told them they heard gun­shots and lat­er found the man dead.

While pro­cess­ing the scene, of­fi­cers found five 9mm shells with TTPS mark­ing. They al­so re­cov­ered 28 nine-mil­lime­tre spent shells, in­clud­ing 16 CBC Luger shells, and sev­en WIN Luger shells.

In­ves­ti­ga­tors have la­belled Al­ick’s mur­der as gang-re­lat­ed. —Jensen La Vende
