Carib Brewery on Thursday continued its push to diversify its product lines with the unveiling of Rockstone Tonic Wine at the ANSA McAL Hospitality Suite, Queen’s Park Oval, Port-of-Spain.

The company said innovation was crucial at this time, as the preferences of its customers continued to evolve.

“Our customers and consumers are no longer settling for the status quo. They’re excited to try new beverages and they will try every choice on different occasions. But better yet the occasions can change over time. They are continuously forcing us and driving us to expand our portfolio by creating line extensions,” said Antron Forte, Carib Brewery’s Category Manager, Beer and Cider who noted that in the past year Carib has unveiled Carib Blue and Mackeson Dark Chocolate while in 2019, prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, the brewery stepped into the Cider category with Caribe.

The company also added Vitamalt to its line of beverages last month.

Cavinne Gooding, Carib’s Innovation Project lead explained the new tonic wine featured ingredients such as Powaroots, includes a blend of natural root extracts such as maca root, bois bande, sarsaparilla bark, horny goat weed, iron and vitamins B-1, B-2, B-6, B-12, iron and vitamin C.

“Rockstone features that tapestry of flavours with an oak and spicy finish, combined with an appreciable kick of alcohol and sweetness intensity with an ABV of 12 per cent,” she said.

Carib Regional Business Manager Scott McSween confirmed a case of Rockstone will retail at $273.

He said the company would use multiple routes to get the product out to the consumer.

“We have to be able to drive the product to our consumers where they need to consume it. And we will utilise all of our route to market to be able to do so, which means supermarkets, bars, and more importantly, using our wholesalers where a lot of these event promoters go to, to be able to acquire product. We will work with all of our customers to ensure that Rockstone is available at the right price at the right time for the enjoyment of our consumers,” said McSween.
