CARIB Brewery took a taste of the Caribbean to India when it hosted an exclusive ambassador meet and greet in Lucknow on April 24, featuring Trinidad and Tobago cricketers Nicholas Pooran and Dwayne Bravo.
The event, held at the Hilton Garden Inn in Lucknow, formed part of the company’s push to strengthen the presence of Carib Premium Strong Beer in India, where it launched in 2025.
Pooran and Bravo, both in India for the 2026 Indian Premier League (IPL) season, engaged with key partners, media, influencers and stakeholders during the three-hour event, which included interviews, a question-and-answer session and a photo-signing segment.
Guests also experienced a curated brand showcase, complete with a live photo wall, lunch and Carib-branded giveaways.
The company described the occasion as a celebration of Caribbean culture and its growing footprint in India, particularly in Uttar Pradesh, where the product is currently available.
Managing director for International and Business Development at CARIB Brewery, Adrian Sabga, said the event reflected the company’s ambition.
“India has been our boldest move yet - and events like this remind us exactly why we made it. To see Carib Premium Strong Beer on shelves in Uttar Pradesh, and to bring Nicholas Pooran and Dwayne Bravo together in Lucknow during the IPL, is a proud moment for everyone at CARIB. We are a global brand, and India proves it! This is what happens when you back your brand, back your people, and trust that cricket will always bring us together.”
Head of Brand Marketing, Antron Forte, said the partnership aligned with the company’s identity.
“This partnership is more than just a sponsorship - it represents the heart of CARIB’s strategy. Building brand equity through two cultural pillars that define who we are: Carnival and cricket. Their journey from local cricket grounds to global stadiums mirrors the very path Carib Beer has taken.”
Business Head at Globus Spirits, Rajesh Fanda, said the collaboration went beyond product promotion.
“This is more than introducing a new beer - it’s about celebrating the spirit of two vibrant cultures brought together by cricket, bold flavours and good times.”
Carib Premium Strong Beer entered the Indian market through Globus ANSA Private Ltd, a joint venture between ANSA McAL and Globus Spirits.
The product is brewed locally in India and marketed as an eight per cent ABV beer, with plans for expansion into additional states.
