In a demonstration of unity and support, the TCL Group, in coordination with its Jamaican subsidiary Caribbean Cement Company Limited (Carib Cement) and parent company Cemex, has launched a global fundraising initiative, “Together for Jamaica,” to assist the country’s recovery efforts.
The campaign, which began on October 29, allows Cemex’s worldwide network of employees, customers, business partners, and other stakeholders to contribute over a two-week period. All contributions will be matched by the company, with the combined proceeds donated to Food for the Poor, Jamaica’s largest charity organisation, to support relief and rebuilding activities.
Managing Director of the TCL Group Francisco Aguilera said that as a key player in the region’s construction sector, the company recognises the importance of providing tangible support to help rebuild communities, especially in times of great need.
“At Cemex and the TCL Group, we are deeply committed to standing with the people of Jamaica during this challenging time. This collaboration highlights our ongoing commitment to community resilience and recovery, coming together as one global team in support of the country,” Aguilera said.
The “Together for Jamaica” campaign forms part of Cemex’s global disaster response framework, which mobilises its workforce and partners to support affected countries through direct aid, matched donations, and community rebuilding projects. The initiative reflects Cemex, the TCL Group, and Carib Cement’s shared values of solidarity, sustainability, and social impact.
