The Children’s Authority says since its operationalisation, there have been two instances of girls who became pregnant while they were residents of children’s homes.
And during their investigation, it was determined that no staff member was responsible for the girls becoming pregnant.
The Children's Authority's clarification came after member of parliament for Princes Town Barry Padarath Spoke about it during the UNC's weekly press conference.
Padarath said they will get the information on how many girls were impregnated, what became of the babies, teenage mothers and those responsible for the pregnancies.
Well authority said the children were already pregnant when they were placed at a home specifically designated for pregnant teens.
And the matters were reported to the police, who are conducting their investigation.
