Chinese ambassador congrats PM on Sinopharm shot

Chi­nese Am­bas­sador H.E. Fang Qiu has con­grat­u­lat­ed Prime Min­is­ter Dr Kei­th Row­ley on re­ceiv­ing his first dose of the Sinopharm COVID-19 vac­cine, to­day.

His Ex­cel­len­cy sent out a post on his Face­book page while on his way to the Pi­ar­co In­ter­na­tion­al Air­port to await the ar­rival of the 800,000 Sinopharm vac­cines pur­chased by the T&T Gov­ern­ment, and which are ex­pect­ed mo­men­tar­i­ly, af­ter be­ing shipped from Bei­jing over the week­end.

Am­bas­sador Fang Qiu wrote: “Heart­ened to know on my way to the air­port to re­ceive the 800,000 dos­es Sinopharm vac­cines! This is lead­er­ship by ex­am­ple and in ac­tion! Chi­na will con­tin­ue stand­ing with Trinidad and To­ba­go in sol­i­dar­i­ty to pre­vail over this pan­dem­ic.”

Prime Min­is­ter Row­ley re­ceived his first dose of the Sinopharm vac­cine at the Diego Mar­tin Health Cen­tre, this morn­ing.

An­oth­er ma­jor phase of the Na­tion­al COVID-19 Vac­ci­na­tion Pro­gramme is ex­pect­ed to com­mence by Fri­day this week.
