Claxton Bay man fatally stabbed by female relative

A fa­ther of three was fa­tal­ly stabbed by a fe­male rel­a­tive dur­ing a heat­ed ar­gu­ment at his Clax­ton Bay home ear­ly this morn­ing.

Po­lice said 33-year-old Ker­ron Phillip of Di­a­mond Vil­lage, Clax­ton Bay, sus­tained a sin­gle stab wound to the ab­domen.

Ini­tial re­ports in­di­cat­ed that Phillip had been drink­ing and lim­ing with rel­a­tives last night to cel­e­brate his broth­er’s birth­day.

Around 1 a.m., he re­turned home and got in­to an ar­gu­ment with the woman, which es­ca­lat­ed in­to vi­o­lence. She al­leged­ly grabbed a knife and stabbed him.

An am­bu­lance took Phillip to the San Fer­nan­do Gen­er­al Hos­pi­tal, where he died around 3.30 a.m.

Rel­a­tives said both had been drink­ing and of­ten ar­gued dur­ing do­mes­tic dis­putes.

The woman re­mains in po­lice cus­tody.
