The Trinidad and Tobago Coast Guard intercepted a pirogue carrying four men and a quantity of packages suspected to contain narcotics in the northern Gulf of Paria on Monday.
The packages were individually wrapped in plastic.
The vessel was escorted to Coast Guard Headquarters at Staubles Bay, Chaguaramas, where further searches were conducted.
The four men, the packages and the vessel were then handed over to law enforcement authorities for further processing.
