In the wee hours of Wednesday morning, a 27-year-old coconut vendor from Gasparillo reportedly defended himself during an attempted robbery while at the Preysal Flyover.
According to the vendor, around 3 am, an individual approached him with the intent to steal. In an act of self-defence, the vendor allegedly used a knife to fend off the attacker.
Officers from the Central Division Task Force (Area South), led by Sgt. Blackman, responded to the incident.
They spoke with the vendor, took the weapon as part of their investigation and assessed the scene.
The individual involved in the attempted robbery was taken to the hospital for treatment.
Cpl. Mohammed, along with PCs Abraham, Marshall, Mohammed, and Murali, assisted in the response.
Authorities are continuing their investigation to gather more details surrounding the incident.
