A 33-year-old man is in critical condition after he was shot multiple times by a policeman during an altercation in Santa Cruz on Sunday afternoon.
Police said the 34-year-old Constable got into an argument with his ex-girlfriend and began beating her.
A man who was nearby intervened and fought with the officer, but was thrown to the ground and shot six times by the policeman.
Passers-by took the wounded man to hospital where he remained up to Monday morning.
Investigators said the officer was cautioned and detained by officers of the San Juan CID.
