A po­lice of­fi­cer was charged with in­de­cent as­sault af­ter al­leged­ly kiss­ing an­oth­er of­fi­cer on her lips with­out her con­sent.

PC Nkosi Nunes, who is as­signed to the North­ern Di­vi­sion, ap­peared be­fore Mas­ter Guer­ra-Abra­ham at the Port-of-Spain Mas­ter’s Court yes­ter­day fol­low­ing in­ves­ti­ga­tions con­duct­ed by the Pro­fes­sion­al Stan­dards Bu­reau (PSB).

In a state­ment is­sued yes­ter­day, the TTPS said Nunes was grant­ed bail with sure­ty in the sum of $200,000 by Jus­tice of the Peace Stephen Young.

The mat­ter was ad­journed to June 18.

The charge arose from in­ves­ti­ga­tions in­to a re­port of in­de­cent as­sault re­ceived by the PSB on June 27, 2025.

In­ves­ti­ga­tors al­leged that on March 20, 2025, the com­plainant was on du­ty at the Po­lice Ad­min­is­tra­tion Build­ing in Port-of-Spain when Nunes al­leged­ly kissed her on the lips with­out con­sent.

Po­lice said fur­ther en­quiries led to Nunes be­ing ar­rest­ed for the of­fence of in­de­cent as­sault con­trary to Sec­tion 15(1) of the Sex­u­al Of­fences Act, Chap­ter 11:28, as amend­ed.
