A police officer was charged with indecent assault after allegedly kissing another officer on her lips without her consent.
PC Nkosi Nunes, who is assigned to the Northern Division, appeared before Master Guerra-Abraham at the Port-of-Spain Master’s Court yesterday following investigations conducted by the Professional Standards Bureau (PSB).
In a statement issued yesterday, the TTPS said Nunes was granted bail with surety in the sum of $200,000 by Justice of the Peace Stephen Young.
The matter was adjourned to June 18.
The charge arose from investigations into a report of indecent assault received by the PSB on June 27, 2025.
Investigators alleged that on March 20, 2025, the complainant was on duty at the Police Administration Building in Port-of-Spain when Nunes allegedly kissed her on the lips without consent.
Police said further enquiries led to Nunes being arrested for the offence of indecent assault contrary to Section 15(1) of the Sexual Offences Act, Chapter 11:28, as amended.
