RHON­DOR DOWLAT-ROS­TANT

An al­ter­ca­tion is be­lieved to have led to the mur­der of a 52-year-old Arou­ca man, who was found in some bush­es tied up and with a bul­let wound to the head, on Wednes­day night.

The vic­tim has been iden­ti­fied as Lar­ry Jor­dan of St John Road, Arou­ca.

Ac­cord­ing to a po­lice re­port, at about 10:40 pm, po­lice of­fi­cers re­spond­ed to a re­port of loud ex­plo­sions heard at Lp No. 19 Lopinot Road, Arou­ca.  Up­on ar­rival at the lo­ca­tion, they in­ter­viewed a man who took them 1,500 feet in­to the bush­es where they saw the Jor­dan's body. 

The of­fi­cers said that Jor­dan’s hands and feet were tied, a yel­low piece of cloth was cov­er­ing his mouth, and the body bore a gun­shot wound to the head—be­hind his ear.

Dis­trict Med­ical Of­fi­cer Dr. Gopaul vis­it­ed the scene, viewed the body, made the pro­nounce­ment and or­dered its re­moval, pend­ing a post-mortem at the Foren­sic Sci­ence Cen­tre. 

Crime scene per­son­nel processed the scene and re­trieved one 9mm spent shell cas­ing.

Pre­lim­i­nary in­ves­ti­ga­tions have re­vealed that Jor­dan had an al­ter­ca­tion with some­one, but Po­lice of­fi­cers are yet to as­cer­tain what the al­ter­ca­tion was about.
