Two men were killed in Ari­ma on Wednes­day night.

They have been iden­ti­fied as Twyla Pe­ter­son, 31, of Blan­chisseuse Road, Ari­ma; and Christo­pher Bran­don DeLeon, 28, of Wat­t­ley Cir­cu­lar, Mt Pleas­ant Road, Ari­ma.

Po­lice said the two were at an aban­doned house at Mt Pleas­ant Road around 7.28 pm when loud ex­plo­sions were heard. They were re­port­ed­ly ac­cost­ed by two armed men.

Of­fi­cers ar­rived and found Pe­ter­son’s body on the side of the road.

DeLeon’s body was found a short dis­tance away. He re­port­ed­ly at­tempt­ed to es­cape on a bi­cy­cle. He had been shot in the head.

Po­lice said among the ev­i­dence they col­lect­ed at the scene were five spent shells, one cam­ou­flage kit con­sist­ing of a jack­et and pants, and one knife.

And in a sep­a­rate shoot­ing in­ci­dent at Sa­van­nah Trace, Ari­ma Old Road, a 34-year-old man, of Harp­er Street, Reid Lane, D’Abadie, was shot four times in the legs as he walked home.

The vic­tim was said to have been am­bushed by six armed men around 8.25 pm.

Passers­by, who alert­ed po­lice, found the vic­tim with three gun­shot wounds to the right thigh and one to the left thigh.

He was tak­en to the Ari­ma Health Fa­cil­i­ty. He was treat­ed and ward­ed in a sta­ble con­di­tion.

In­ves­ti­ga­tions are con­tin­u­ing in­to both in­ci­dents.
