Police investigators will be seeking advice from the Director of Public Prosecutions on what charges, if any, would be laid against a man who reportedly assaulted a woman at a taxi stand in Tunapuna last week.
In a video circulated on social media last week, the man was seen beating the woman at a street off the Eastern Main Road.
Investigators said based on initial information, the woman confronted the man at the taxi stand, where she accused him of not paying child support.
An argument ensued, and the man struck the woman several times, injuring her.
The man injured himself during the assault.
Police said both the man and woman were taken to the hospital; however, neither of them was arrested as enquiries were still ongoing up to Monday morning.
Investigators said a file comprising the evidence would be compiled as further investigations are underway.
