Two cousins were injured in a shooting on Monday night, while liming at the home of a known “community leader” in Glencoe.
Police said round 8.10 pm, the victims were reportedly among a group of six people at a house located north of the football field on La Horquette Valley Road.
The group reportedly saw a black pick-up truck, which they believed to be an unmarked police vehicle, driving along the street. The vehicle passed them, made a U-turn further up, then returned and stopped in front of where they were gathered. As the rear driver-side window lowered, the men said the occupants opened fire before speeding off.
An 18-year-old, of Point Cumana, Carenage, was shot in the right foot, right upper arm and right back; while his 28-year-old cousin of Cocorite Terrace, Cocorite, was shot in the right elbow and left shin.
Both victims were treated at the St James Infirmary and discharged in stable condition.
A total of 21 spent 9 mm shell casings, and 17 spent 5.56 mm shell casings were recovered at the scene.
