Deputy Com­mis­sion­er of Po­lice Suzette Mar­tin says so­cial me­dia claims that a Mem­ber of Par­lia­ment was ar­rest­ed are false.

Mar­tin told Guardian Me­dia yes­ter­day that she was made aware of posts cir­cu­lat­ing this week al­leg­ing that a se­nior at­tor­ney and MP was un­der in­ves­ti­ga­tion for sex­u­al mis­con­duct and had been de­tained.

The DCP said she made en­quiries and con­firmed that none of the in­for­ma­tion in the re­ports was true.

Guardian Me­dia al­so con­tact­ed the MP named in the posts. He said he was at home and had paid no at­ten­tion to the claims, which he laughed off.
