A man living in Debe was arrested after 94 animals consisting of sheep and goats, which were reported stolen, were recovered by officers of the Eastern Division during raid conducted in the Mayaro district.
Officers of the Mayaro Criminal Investigations Department and Task Force, under the supervision of Sgt Bhim, conducted investigations relative to a report of robbery with violence and larceny, which occurred around 1 am last Sunday.
A watchman at the Mayaro Breeding Unit, Mayaro, reported to police that he was on duty at the location when he was approached by two armed individuals who restrained him and relieved him of a cellular phone, keys to the facility, keys to a tractor, and his black Toyota Yaris motor vehicle.
The assailants also took a number of sheep and goats from the facility before escaping.
During the exercise, officers went to the Debe home of a man where they executed a search warrant which resulted in 94 animals being discovered.
The suspect was arrested in connection with the find.
Investigations are ongoing.

A Venezuelan national has been charged with possession of narcotics
A statement from the Police Service said Elias Dellan, 28, who is in this country illegally, was arrested by officers of the South Western Division (SWD) during an anti-crime exercise conducted in the California, Couva district on Wednesday.
Police sasid acting on information, the officers found the suspect in possession of 5.7 kilogrammes of narcotics in the district.
The drug has a street value of approximately $60,000.
The charge was laid by Cpl Carter of the SWD.
The exercise was coordinated by acting Senior Supt Brandon John and included Insp Simon and Sgt Breddy, also of the SWD.
Vendor on ammo charge
Cris Kernil Motiram has been arrested and charged with possession of ammunition.
A report from the Police Service said police officers of the South Western Division and members of the Penal Criminal Investigations Department went to a house on Beckles Street, Penal.
Constables Wears and Ramdath searched the house and reportedly found two rounds of nine millimetre CAVIM ammunition on a mattress in a bedroom.
Motiram, 30, a vendor, of Ganga Street Balmain, Couva, was arrested and charged.
He was expected to appear before the Siparia Magistrates’ Court yesterday to anser the charge
