The body of a man was found on Thurs­day af­ter­noon in an apart­ment com­plex in Curepe.  The body was said to be in an ad­vanced state of de­com­po­si­tion.

Ac­cord­ing to a po­lice re­port, at about 3.30 pm, res­i­dents called the po­lice and in­formed them of a foul stench com­ing from the apart­ment build­ing, lo­cat­ed at Mc In­roy Street.

Po­lice said the res­i­dents checked for them­selves and found the de­com­posed body in one of the apart­ments.

Of­fi­cers from the St Joseph Po­lice Sta­tion and the Homi­cide Bu­reau re­spond­ed, along with the Dis­trict Med­ical Of­fi­cer, who viewed the body and con­firmed that it was in an ad­vanced state of de­com­po­si­tion.

The body was or­dered to be re­moved to the Foren­sic Sci­ence Cen­tre in St James for an au­top­sy to de­ter­mine the ac­tu­al cause of death.

Po­lice said they were told the de­ceased was last seen alive about three weeks ago by oth­er ten­ants of the said apart­ment com­plex.
