In­ves­ti­ga­tions are con­tin­u­ing af­ter the de­com­pos­ing bod­ies of two men were found in Port-of-Spain and La Hor­quet­ta on Thurs­day.

In the first dis­cov­ery, po­lice said around 9.06 am at Trou Macaque Road, Laven­tille, of­fi­cers were alert­ed by a res­i­dent that a foul stench had been de­tect­ed at the home of his neigh­bour.

Up­on in­ves­ti­gat­ing, the res­i­dent found the man, known on­ly as Char­lie, ly­ing mo­tion­less on the grassy foot­path lead­ing to his house.

The res­i­dent said he last saw the man two weeks ago.

The man was found bare­backed and was clad on­ly in black short pants and a pair of rub­ber slip­pers at his Vic­tor Bruce Cir­cu­lar, Phase 4 home.

A walk­ing cane was al­so found lean­ing against a con­crete base near his feet.

In the sec­ond in­ci­dent, po­lice said around 3.30 pm in La Hor­quet­ta, Si­mon Jude Alexan­der was found dead.

Alexan­der’s neigh­bour, con­tact­ed po­lice af­ter see­ing an un­usu­al num­ber of flies swarm­ing the house. He lat­er de­tect­ed a foul stench com­ing from the locked premis­es.

Fire of­fi­cers ar­rived and broke down the door to the house and found Alexan­der ly­ing on a makeshift wood­en bed with a brown cloth over his head. He, too, was last seen ap­prox­i­mate­ly two weeks ago.

Po­lice said au­top­sies will be con­duct­ed to de­ter­mine how both men died.
