Investigations are continuing after the decomposing bodies of two men were found in Port-of-Spain and La Horquetta on Thursday.
In the first discovery, police said around 9.06 am at Trou Macaque Road, Laventille, officers were alerted by a resident that a foul stench had been detected at the home of his neighbour.
Upon investigating, the resident found the man, known only as Charlie, lying motionless on the grassy footpath leading to his house.
The resident said he last saw the man two weeks ago.
The man was found barebacked and was clad only in black short pants and a pair of rubber slippers at his Victor Bruce Circular, Phase 4 home.
A walking cane was also found leaning against a concrete base near his feet.
In the second incident, police said around 3.30 pm in La Horquetta, Simon Jude Alexander was found dead.
Alexander’s neighbour, contacted police after seeing an unusual number of flies swarming the house. He later detected a foul stench coming from the locked premises.
Fire officers arrived and broke down the door to the house and found Alexander lying on a makeshift wooden bed with a brown cloth over his head. He, too, was last seen approximately two weeks ago.
Police said autopsies will be conducted to determine how both men died.
