The de­com­pos­ing body of a man was found in an aban­doned build­ing in St Au­gus­tine on Sun­day.

Of­fi­cers of the Tu­na­puna Po­lice Sta­tion were alert­ed by the Tu­na­puna Mu­nic­i­pal Po­lice of the dis­cov­ery at Pasea Street, St Au­gus­tine Cir­cu­lar on the evening of March 9.

Of­fi­cers were di­rect­ed to the build­ing and found the man, who is of African de­scent – ly­ing on a stained mat­tress.

The de­ceased who was dark in com­plex­ion with a short grey­ing hair­style, had been ly­ing face down – and had been clad in a green jer­sey and long black pants with black socks.

His body bore no ap­par­ent marks of vi­o­lence.
