A Diego Mar­tin man has been charged with rob­bery with vi­o­lence. Akeem Nes­bit, 24, of Jasper Av­enue, Di­a­mond Vale, is ex­pect­ed to ap­pear at the Ari­ma Mag­is­trates’ Court to­day.

Ac­cord­ing to po­lice re­ports, the of­fence al­leged­ly oc­curred on June 1st around 5 pm. The sus­pect who was with an­oth­er man hired the 23-year-old vic­tim to take them to Bel­mont from La Hor­quet­ta. Af­ter al­leged­ly pick­ing up the men from La Hor­quet­ta in a sil­ver Nis­san Ti­i­da, he pro­ceed­ed to Sama­roo Vil­lage when the sus­pects al­leged­ly start­ed beat­ing him and told him to hand over his be­long­ings.

The two men drove off af­ter the 23-year-old fled from the ve­hi­cle. The ve­hi­cle, val­ued at $40,000, was re­cov­ered at Myra Lane, Sher­wood Park, Ari­ma, lat­er that day. In­ves­ti­ga­tions led to the ar­rest of the sus­pect who was sub­se­quent­ly charged on June 3rd 2021.
