Two weeks after she was reported missing, the family of a 13-year-old girl is pleading with the public for help in finding her.
Police reported on December 18 that Delika White Lezama of Foster Road, Sangre Grande, was missing and had been last seen at 5 pm, on Saturday 17 December 2022.
In an email to Guardian Media today, Delika's aunt Melanie Moore pleaded for help in finding the missing girl.
"I'm emailing to plead with you with you to help my family and I spread awareness so she can be located. My sister and family are very disturbed and distraught that she is missing and can be found nowhere. The Sangre Grande Police state they are working very hard in this case and are leaving no stone or lead unturned. Will you please be able to get this story out for national coverage so anyone with information on her where about can see and say something?" she asked.
She added, "I have been pleading for anonymous or any tips to help us locate our loved Delika. The British authorities, embassy and also the British High Commission in Trinidad are well aware and are working together to locate her. I’m in New York and trying to do what I can from here. Please help us."
In the December 18 Missing Persons Alert, police described Delika as being of African descent, medium build with a brown complexion.
She was last seen wearing, a pink jersey and a black skirt.
