Police are investigating another attack on a Mandir following a report that someone broke into the Craignish Shiva Mandir in Princess Town, stealing a donation box and destroying its surveillance system. Princes Town police said someone contacted the station on Tuesday evening and reported the theft.

When officers went to the Mandir, off the Gopaul Bypass Road, they noticed a hole in the roof, but no one was there.
Following inquiries, officers noted that a box containing $51 was missing.

Investigators said the intruder did not vandalise the mandir. Villagers said they heard an alarm on Sunday.
Secretary General of the Sanatan Dharam Maha Saba Vijay Maharaj believes the break-in occurred between Sunday night and Monday morning.

Maharaj said devotees went to the mandir and noticed ventilation blocks smashed on one of the walls.

They entered and realised the donation box was not there, and the surveillance system was destroyed. He said no desecration took place.
A devotee of the mandir said there were several break-ins over the years.

Because of that, they never left any significant amount of cash there.

However, the last incident occurred eight years ago.
