A 34-year-old doubles vendor of Guaico, Tamana Road, Cunapo, was at her workplace at J and M Doubles on the Southern Main Road, Coalmine, when she was robbed of her money.

Reports indicate around 10:15 am on Friday, the victim was seated at the back of her business when she observed a masked man—described as short, skinny, and dark-skinned in complexion—armed with a gun walking towards her.

The masked man announced a hold up and asked her to pass the money. She became fearful for her life and those of her fellow employees, and she took him to the front of the business where he proceeded to take approximately $2,800 from the money drawer.

She also observed another masked man, with a rifle in his hands, running towards her. Both men then made their escape by running through the kitchen of the house and into a forested area to the back.

A report was made and police officers from the Sangre Grande CID and members of the Eastern Division Task Force responded and conducted extensive enquiries.

Police found one AK47 Rifle together with one round of 7.62 ammunition. Also, several items of clothing were retrieved by crime scene investigators.

Investigations continue.
