The Director of Public Prosecutions has advised police to charge the daughter of Sita Jagessar, who was found murdered at her Debe home on April 19.
The DPP's instructions came less than two hours after Jagessar's funeral today.
Melissa Jagessar will face a San Fernando magistrate tomorrow.
She lived in the same home as her murdered mother.
Jagessar’s 13-year-old granddaughter discovered the woman's body on the floor of the home when she returned home on the first day of the reopening of school.
An autopsy at the Forensic Science Centre in St James on Monday found Jagessar died of suffocation and blunt force trauma.
