A St. Joseph man appeared before a Port-of-Spain Magistrate yesterday, charged with the murder of Rudven Prout, which occurred on Monday 11th November.
Calvin Corion, 29, a taxi driver of Farm Road, St. Joseph, was charged with the offence, following advice received from Director of Public Prosecutions, which was received on Monday.
Prout, 56, of Real Street, San Juan, was found down a precipice along the North Coast Road, Maraval, on Friday 8th November.
He was taken to the Port-of-Spain General Hospital for treatment but died on Monday 11th November.
The accused surrendered to officers on that same date.
Prout told officers he was invited to go out by a tenant and a neighbour but was blindfolded, beaten, thrown over the precipice and left for dead.
His screams were heard by passers-by which lead to his eventual rescue before he succumbed to injuries.
