Police are searching for an assailant who shot a 30-year-old man as he returned to his South Oropouche home on Monday night.
The victim, a driver, had just arrived at his Cemetery Street home from work and was locking his Almera, which was parked in front of the house, when he was approached by a masked gunman dressed in dark clothing and a hoodie.
The gunman opened fire, hitting the victim in the mid-chest, left side of the back and upper left shoulder.
The suspect then fled through the nearby cemetery and escaped.
An EHS ambulance transported the victim to the San Fernando General Hospital, where he is said to be in stable condition.
Officers from the South Western Division responded, and Sgt Siew is investigating.
