The Elections and Boundaries Commission is confirming that over fourteen hundred special electors have so far cast their vote.
Special voting began on Monday, and the EBC is expecting nearly seventeen thousand individuals to participate in the process.
According to a statement from the EBC, the highest special voter turnout recorded yesterday was in the Aranguez/St. Joseph constituency, where special voters continued to wait within the polling station precinct beyond 3:00 p.m. to vote.
Proceedings have so far been described as smooth.
Special electors are persons who, due to the nature of their duties or circumstances, are unable to vote on the official polling day.
They include members of the protective services, EBC officials, and election staff, among others.
Special voting will end on Sunday, April 27th.
