Elderly woman raped, ill husband beaten during home invasion

A 65-year-old woman was kid­napped and raped twice, while her hus­band was beat­en af­ter ban­dits broke in­to their Fyz­abad home on Sat­ur­day night.

Po­lice said the woman and her 68-year-old hus­band, a stroke vic­tim, are al­so cit­i­zens of the Unit­ed States of Amer­i­ca.  

They told po­lice that they went to bed around 8.30 pm. Lat­er that night around 11 pm, they were jolt­ed from sleep by a loud noise.

Two in­trud­ers, one armed with a cut­lass, then kicked down a door to their bed­room and be­gan de­mand­ing mon­ey.

The ban­dits, whose faces were cov­ered, ran­sacked the house. The armed ban­dit be­gan beat­ing the man on his face with the cut­lass.

They stole $5,000, jew­ellery val­ued at $44,000, two cell­phones and the cou­ple’s US doc­u­ments.

Po­lice said one of the ban­dits raped the woman. The armed ban­dits then forced her to an aban­doned house a short dis­tance away, where the oth­er ban­dit raped her.

The sus­pects ran off and were still at large up to yes­ter­day evening.

The cou­ple was treat­ed at the Siparia Med­ical Fa­cil­i­ty.
