Dur­ing the cur­rent cut and thrust of po­lit­i­cal de­bates dur­ing the on­go­ing Gen­er­al Elec­tion bat­tle, politi­cians have been de­liv­er­ing some gems and jabs on the hus­tings. To­day, we con­tin­ue to de­liv­er some of the state­ments that may have been missed.

OW­TU pres­i­dent gen­er­al An­cel Ro­get at Wednes­day's UNC Point Fortin meet­ing:

"Stu­art Young - pre­pare your jail clothes! We have your jail num­ber al­ready!"

PNM La Brea can­di­date Ran­dall Mitchell at Tues­day's Point Fortin meet­ing:

"You know is elec­tion time and when it is elec­tion time all kinds of zan­dolee does crawl out of their hole ..."

UNC Caroni Cen­tral can­di­date David Lee:

"For the last 10 years Faris Al-Rawi has been BS-ing the peo­ple of San Fer­nan­do West. It's time to vote him out and send the Maserati back to Port-of-Spain!"

PNM Arou­ca/Lopinot can­di­date Mar­vin Gon­za­les at Wednes­day's Arou­ca meet­ing:

"Just imag­ine, had you put Jack Warn­er as your rep­re­sen­ta­tive in 2020, as he ran against me - I put him in the blast­ed box! He was parad­ing up and down blam­ing PNM, not telling you his ma­jor ob­jec­tive of con­test­ing was to es­cape ex­tra­di­tion .... we have a re­spon­si­bil­i­ty April 28 to put Jack in the box once and for all. And let us bury him in the Lopinot ceme­tery!"

UNC Point Fortin can­di­date Ernesto Ke­sar at Wednes­day's Point Fortin meet­ing, af­ter ref­er­ence was made to him at PNM's Tues­day meet­ing:

"I for­give you lit­tle broth­er for all the strange things you said last night ... to be­smirch my good name. When I lis­tened to the tid­bits, I say­ing in my mind 'wow I'm not go­ing to go down there be­cause for­give them Fa­ther for they know not what they do.' But as they went on a tirade say­ing all man­ner of things, then tonight we stand­ing up in their back door!"

PNM St Ann's East can­di­date Dr Nyan Gads­by-Dol­ly at Tues­day's St Joseph meet­ing:

"I want to shout out some­body very spe­cial - my sup­port­ive hard-work­ing hus­band ... be­hind every good woman is a strong man ... there's some­thing the UNC likes to in­cite peo­ple to stir up, say­ing ,'MP we ent see you since the elec­tion'. Well, I have an an­swer for them. I said 'you ent see­ing me enough? Well, my hus­band say­ing the same thing'."

MND Diego Mar­tin North East can­di­date garvin nicholas to res­i­dents dur­ing Tues­day's walk­a­bout:

"I have your back...The tril­lion dol­lar tourism mar­ket should be the next sig­nif­i­cant growth sec­tor for the econ­o­my by de­vel­op­ing a sus­tain­able T&T brand that sur­vives the whims and fan­cies of any in­ter­na­tion­al ho­tel."

UNC Fyz­abad can­di­date Dave Tan­coo at Wednes­day's Point Fortin meet­ing:

"Let me make it (de­val­u­a­tion talk) clear for you be­cause I know they pay at­ten­tion when we speak be­cause they have no plan so their ears open. They cock up you know, wait­ing, they want to lis­ten to hear a plan they could tief! All yuh lock up all yuh dog and thing ... tief­ing! Let me make it clear. Read my lips Stu­art Lit­tle, oops, Stu­art Young - no de­val­u­a­tion un­der the UNC!"

PNM To­co/San­gre Grande can­di­date Roger Mon­roe at Wednes­day's Arou­ca/Lopinot meet­ing:

"... Gen­er­al elec­tion 2025, ac­cord­ing to how we han­dle it, has con­se­quences. You all re­mem­ber 2010? You all want an­oth­er re­peat of 2010? ... You all ent sound­ing like you sure ... ok very good (re­sponse) now."

UNC Tu­na­puna can­di­date Roger Alexan­der at Mon­day's Barataria meet­ing:

"I'm not about ra-ra here, ra-ra there and ra-ra every­where, I'm about bring­ing facts ... if you want facts, say Roger that!"

PNM La Hor­quet­ta/Tal­paro can­di­date Fos­ter Cum­mings at Tues­day's Aranguez/St Joseph meet­ing:

"Aranguez or St Joseph, call it what you want - PNM will win this seat con­vinc­ing­ly ...Ter­rence (Deyals­ingh) will win it for the fourth time...We're deal­ing with a bunch of peo­ple des­per­ate to get in­to of­fice, noth­ing wrong with that (but) they're a 'con­tract' gov­ern­ment, a box drain gov­ern­ment ...!"
