Two health fa­cil­i­ties in To­co and one in Matu­ra will be closed tem­porar­i­ly from noon on Fri­day and over the week­end, an ad­vi­so­ry from the East­ern Re­gion­al Health Au­thor­i­ty (ER­HA) says.

The To­co Health Cen­tre, To­co Ac­ci­dent & Emer­gency De­part­ment and Matu­ra Out­reach Cen­tre will be closed in or­der to fa­cil­i­tate rou­tine spray­ing by the In­sect Vec­tor Con­trol Di­vi­sion.

The ER­HA as­sures that the fa­cil­i­ties will re­sume ser­vices at 8:00 am on Mon­day 20 May 2024.  

Dur­ing this tem­po­rary clo­sure, the ER­HA says health ser­vices can be ac­cessed at fa­cil­i­ties in Cumana and San­gre Grande.

Those who use the To­co Health Cen­tre and To­co Ac­ci­dent & Emer­gency can ac­cess health care ser­vices at the Cumana Out­reach Cen­tre.

Mean­while, per­sons who nor­mal­ly use the Matu­ra Out­reach Cen­tre can ac­cess health care ser­vices at the San­gre Grande En­hanced Health Cen­tre.
