A 56-year-old Diego Mar­tin woman was killed in what po­lice in­ves­ti­ga­tors be­lieve is an­oth­er case of vi­o­lence in­volv­ing a per­son the woman had known well.

Mar­va Suther­land, of An­drew Trace, Blue Basin, Diego Mar­tin, was the fourth woman to be killed in four days this week from Mon­day to yes­ter­day.

Sun­der­land, an am­putee, was found dead in a bed­room in an apart­ment where she was a ten­ant.

She was found just af­ter 9 am ly­ing on the ground in a pool of blood with a cloth cov­er­ing her head. Po­lice found a rock on the ground near her body. There was a wound on her head.

Rel­a­tives of the moth­er of five and grand­moth­er of 22 gath­ered at the home and were dis­traught at the news of Suther­land’s death.

“I want jus­tice for my mom. I don’t know what hap­pened but I want jus­tice for her and I need them to in­ves­ti­gate and let us know what hap­pen to her, she did not de­serve to die like this,” Suther­land’s daugh­ter, Si­mone Suther­land said.

“My mom com­plained to my broth­er three days ago that (the sus­pect) was act­ing men­tal­ly un­sta­ble and she want­ed to go some­where safe. How­ev­er, she nev­er went.”

Si­mone told Guardian Me­dia, “My mom came to Trinidad and To­ba­go from St Vin­cent when she was nine years old. She lost her leg due to di­a­betes and she has been rent­ing here. I’m not too sure what hap­pened and my mom is not a per­son that likes to be in­volved in a con­fronta­tion. She was very nice and loved by a lot of peo­ple.”

The sus­pect was ar­rest­ed by po­lice and tak­en in­to cus­tody while in­ves­ti­ga­tions pro­ceed in­to the mur­der.

Less than 24 hours pri­or, Ellen Tis­hana Mo­hammed, 25, of La Brea Vil­lage, Guayagua­yare, a house­wife and moth­er of three, was at her home when a man she pre­vi­ous­ly had a re­la­tion­ship with al­leged­ly dealt her sev­er­al chops, al­most sev­er­ing her neck in the process.

The sus­pect left the scene and stopped po­lice of­fi­cers on pa­trol to tell them what he had done. He was de­tained and sub­se­quent­ly hand­ed over to of­fi­cers of the Ma­yaro Po­lice Sta­tion.

Al­so, Abeo Cud­joe and her son 12-year-old son, Levi Lewis, were stabbed to death at their Pe­nal home in the ear­ly hours of Tues­day. The sus­pect sur­ren­dered to the po­lice the next day.

On Mon­day, Stephanie Cal­bio, a moth­er of five, was stabbed to death in an al­ter­ca­tion with an­oth­er woman in Care­nage.
