An anti-crime operation conducted in the Couva and Freeport Police districts on Sunday led to the seizure of a homemade shotgun, ammunition, cannabis, and an article of camouflage clothing.
Between 11:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m., officers executed an intelligence-driven operation targeting high-risk areas such as Abraham Street, Pranz Gardens, Claxton Bay.
Officers searched a wooded area where they discovered 753 grams of cannabis, with an estimated street value of $15,000.
Officers then searched an unsecured galvanize structure in Princess Avenue, Mc Bean, Couva and found one (1) homemade shotgun (concealed under the structure), two (2) 12-gauge cartridges and eight (8) rounds of 7.62 ammunition.
This exercise was executed by officers from the Central Division Task Force (CDTF) South and the Couva Police Station, with support from the Canine Unit.
