Three men were ar­rest­ed dur­ing a co­or­di­nat­ed an­ti-crime ex­er­cise in Mara­bel­la yes­ter­day, af­ter of­fi­cers re­cov­ered a firearm, am­mu­ni­tion and co­caine in sep­a­rate op­er­a­tions.

Po­lice said around 4 pm, of­fi­cers con­duct­ed a search at the home of a 26-year-old pri­or­i­ty of­fend­er along Jack Street, where they al­leged­ly found a .38 re­volver loaded with two rounds of am­mu­ni­tion.

He was ar­rest­ed and tak­en to the Mara­bel­la Po­lice Sta­tion pend­ing fur­ther en­quiries.

About 30 min­utes lat­er, of­fi­cers searched an­oth­er prop­er­ty along Bat­too Street, New City Av­enue, where a 28-year-old man was held af­ter six rounds of 9mm am­mu­ni­tion were al­leged­ly dis­cov­ered.

He re­mains in cus­tody.

In a sep­a­rate ex­er­cise around 5.30 pm, of­fi­cers searched a Bat­too Boule­vard home and al­leged­ly found 14 grammes of co­caine in the pos­ses­sion of a 26-year-old man, who was sub­se­quent­ly ar­rest­ed.

Po­lice said he is ex­pect­ed to be charged with pos­ses­sion of co­caine for the pur­pose of traf­fick­ing.

The op­er­a­tions were con­duct­ed by of­fi­cers of the Mara­bel­la Po­lice Sta­tion and CID Op­er­a­tions South un­der the su­per­vi­sion of Sgt Charles and Sgt Suli­man.
