Firearm li­cence fees in­crease from Jan­u­ary 1, 2026, un­der new reg­u­la­tions is­sued by the Min­istry of Home­land Se­cu­ri­ty.

Le­gal No­tice No. 489, the Firearms (Amend­ment) Reg­u­la­tions, 2025, re­vokes and re­places the Third Sched­ule of the Firearms Reg­u­la­tions, set­ting new fees for li­cences, cer­tifi­cates, and per­mits.

A stan­dard Firearm User’s Li­cence will now cost $600, while a shot­gun li­cence is set at $480. Firearm dis­pos­al per­mits will cost $2,000, and a du­pli­cate of a li­cence, cer­tifi­cate, or per­mit will range from $80 to $400.

Im­port per­mits will be $20 per firearm, and a per­mit to take a firearm abroad will al­so cost $20. Re­new­al of a Firearm User’s Li­cence will now be $1,000, while pep­per spray per­mits and im­port per­mits are set at $200 each.

The reg­u­la­tions come in­to ef­fect on Jan­u­ary 1, 2026, and ap­ply to all rel­e­vant li­cences and per­mits is­sued un­der the Firearms Act.
