Firearm licence fees increase from January 1, 2026, under new regulations issued by the Ministry of Homeland Security.
Legal Notice No. 489, the Firearms (Amendment) Regulations, 2025, revokes and replaces the Third Schedule of the Firearms Regulations, setting new fees for licences, certificates, and permits.
A standard Firearm User’s Licence will now cost $600, while a shotgun licence is set at $480. Firearm disposal permits will cost $2,000, and a duplicate of a licence, certificate, or permit will range from $80 to $400.
Import permits will be $20 per firearm, and a permit to take a firearm abroad will also cost $20. Renewal of a Firearm User’s Licence will now be $1,000, while pepper spray permits and import permits are set at $200 each.
The regulations come into effect on January 1, 2026, and apply to all relevant licences and permits issued under the Firearms Act.
