Fisherman arrested after cocaine found in toilet bowl

Po­lice ar­rest­ed a fish­er­man this morn­ing af­ter seiz­ing 17.3 grammes of co­caine from his home in Erin.

Of­fi­cers from the South West­ern Di­vi­sion raid­ed his home dur­ing a State of Emer­gency ex­er­cise be­tween 4 am and 8 am in the San­ta Flo­ra and Erin dis­tricts.

Of­fi­cers said the 40-year-old man had hid­den the co­caine in his toi­let bowl and claimed he planned to give the drugs to work­ers as pay­ment for tend­ing to his goats and sheep near his home.

The co­caine con­sist­ed of 48 pieces.

Po­lice de­tained him at the San­ta Flo­ra Po­lice Sta­tion and charged him with pos­ses­sion of co­caine for the pur­pose of traf­fick­ing. He is ex­pect­ed to ap­pear in court lat­er to­day.
