The Min­istry of For­eign and CARI­COM Af­fairs has called on Trinidad and To­ba­go na­tion­als to ex­er­cise the high­est lev­el of vig­i­lance in light of the es­ca­lat­ing ten­sions be­tween the State of Is­rael and the Is­lam­ic Re­pub­lic of Iran.

In an ad­vi­so­ry is­sued on 16 June 2025, the Min­istry con­firmed it is close­ly mon­i­tor­ing de­vel­op­ments in the re­gion and en­cour­aged all cit­i­zens re­sid­ing in or plan­ning to trav­el through the af­fect­ed ar­eas to take im­me­di­ate pre­cau­tions.

The Min­istry ad­vised na­tion­als to re­main alert and stay in­formed by fol­low­ing cred­i­ble news sources and of­fi­cial up­dates. Cit­i­zens are al­so urged to reg­is­ter prompt­ly with the Min­istry’s Reg­is­tra­tion Sys­tem for Na­tion­als Abroad at https://reg­is­ter.for­eign.gov.tt, en­sure trav­el doc­u­ments are cur­rent, com­ply with lo­cal safe­ty di­rec­tives, and lo­cate near­by emer­gency shel­ters in case of in­ten­si­fied hos­til­i­ties.

Trav­ellers are fur­ther ad­vised to cre­ate con­tin­gency plans for de­par­ture, es­pe­cial­ly if their safe­ty may be at risk.

In ad­di­tion, the Min­istry re­mind­ed na­tion­als that hold­ers of Trinidad and To­ba­go pass­ports must ob­tain a visa for tran­sit through or en­try in­to the Unit­ed King­dom. This re­quire­ment should be in­cor­po­rat­ed in­to all trav­el plans.
