The Ministry of Foreign and CARICOM Affairs has called on Trinidad and Tobago nationals to exercise the highest level of vigilance in light of the escalating tensions between the State of Israel and the Islamic Republic of Iran.
In an advisory issued on 16 June 2025, the Ministry confirmed it is closely monitoring developments in the region and encouraged all citizens residing in or planning to travel through the affected areas to take immediate precautions.
The Ministry advised nationals to remain alert and stay informed by following credible news sources and official updates. Citizens are also urged to register promptly with the Ministry’s Registration System for Nationals Abroad at https://register.foreign.gov.tt, ensure travel documents are current, comply with local safety directives, and locate nearby emergency shelters in case of intensified hostilities.
Travellers are further advised to create contingency plans for departure, especially if their safety may be at risk.
In addition, the Ministry reminded nationals that holders of Trinidad and Tobago passports must obtain a visa for transit through or entry into the United Kingdom. This requirement should be incorporated into all travel plans.
For consular support or further information, citizens may contact the Ministry at consular@foreign.gov.tt.
The Government of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago reaffirmed its ongoing commitment to the safety and well-being of all its nationals, both domestically and overseas.
