Po­lice are in­ves­ti­gat­ing the dis­cov­ery of a de­com­posed body at Blas Cha Cha, Pe­nal Rock Road, Moru­ga.

The de­ceased has been iden­ti­fied as Dar­rel Ap­ing, 38, a gar­den­er.

Po­lice said that around 7.30 pm on Mon­day, they re­ceived a re­port from Troy Ap­ing, 42, a labour­er, who told them he had been con­tact­ed by his cousin, Es­tan Abra­ham, 32, who re­port­ed that he de­tect­ed a strong foul stench while walk­ing past Dar­rel Ap­ing’s home around 7 pm.

He looked through the win­dow of a bed­room and saw Ap­ing’s mo­tion­less body.

Of­fi­cers of the Moru­ga Po­lice Sta­tion, in­clud­ing Ag Cpl Gopaul and PC Ram­lo­gan, went to the scene and found the body in an ad­vanced stage of de­com­po­si­tion.

Dis­trict Med­ical Of­fi­cer Dr Ra­j­nar­i­nesingh vis­it­ed the scene and or­dered the re­moval of the body to the mor­tu­ary at Clark and Bat­too Fu­ner­al Agency pend­ing a post-mortem ex­am­i­na­tion at the Foren­sic Sci­ences Cen­tre, St James.
