Police are investigating the discovery of a decomposed body at Blas Cha Cha, Penal Rock Road, Moruga.
The deceased has been identified as Darrel Aping, 38, a gardener.
Police said that around 7.30 pm on Monday, they received a report from Troy Aping, 42, a labourer, who told them he had been contacted by his cousin, Estan Abraham, 32, who reported that he detected a strong foul stench while walking past Darrel Aping’s home around 7 pm.
He looked through the window of a bedroom and saw Aping’s motionless body.
Officers of the Moruga Police Station, including Ag Cpl Gopaul and PC Ramlogan, went to the scene and found the body in an advanced stage of decomposition.
District Medical Officer Dr Rajnarinesingh visited the scene and ordered the removal of the body to the mortuary at Clark and Battoo Funeral Agency pending a post-mortem examination at the Forensic Sciences Centre, St James.
PC Madoo and PC Boodram processed the scene. Investigations are continuing. - Radhica De Silva
