Funeral worker gunned down weeks after posing in coffin

A Bel­mont man was gunned down ear­ly yes­ter­day, mere weeks af­ter he record­ed a video in a cof­fin.

Po­lice said around 1.45 am, of­fi­cers re­spond­ed to a re­port of a shoot­ing at Her­mitage Road, off Bel­mont Cir­cu­lar Road. When they ar­rived, of­fi­cers found An­tho­ny De­larosa, 40, ly­ing on the road­way with a gun­shot wound to the head.

He was tak­en to the Port-of-Spain Gen­er­al Hos­pi­tal where he suc­cumbed to his in­juries a short while lat­er.

Po­lice are prob­ing the in­ci­dent to de­ter­mine ex­act­ly what led to De­larosa’s killing.

In­ves­ti­ga­tors said De­larosa, who al­so worked at a re­gion­al cor­po­ra­tion, was a fu­ner­al agent at Den­nie’s Fu­ner­al Home.

He had on­ly weeks be­fore record­ed a video at the fu­ner­al home where he posed in a cof­fin.
