National Transformation Alliance (NTA) political leader Gary Griffith is doubling down on his claims that he’s responsible for drafting several plans for Opposition Leader Kamla Persad-Bisessar including the formation of government ministries.

Despite Persad-Bissessar rubbishing these claims as “lies” on Wednesday, Griffith said he has proof.

Addressing supporters at an NTA political meeting in Diego Martin on Wednesday, Griffith said while he was Persad-Bissessar’s National Security advisor in the old People’s Partnership government, she leaned on him to draft several ministries. He claimed she continues to steal his plans ahead of the upcoming General Election.

During the meeting, Griffith asked for Persad-Bissessar’s permission to release private emails between them, to support his claims.

Griffith said, “I calling you out Kamla. You have called me a liar. I am asking your permission to reveal all of the emails showing that I drafted, the Ministry of Defence. I drafted the Ministry of Home Affairs. I drafted the Ministry of Justice. I drafted the National Security. I recommended the $1000 for protective services officers. I drafted the million dollars for the families of officers... It tickling your earbells now Kamla? You remembering now?

Guardian Media asked Griffith to provide the emails for fact-checking purposes, but he said he would not do so without her permission.

Efforts to contact the Persad-Bissessar on the issue were futile yesterday.
