A Gas­par­il­lo man has been charged with breach­ing a pro­tec­tion or­der that was ob­tained against him by a 31-year-old woman.

Cyrus See­gob­in, a 34-year-old mem­ber of the Trinidad and To­ba­go Coast Guard of Gas­par­il­lo, was ar­rest­ed in the San Fer­nan­do dis­trict yes­ter­day.

The charge was laid by PC Lall of the San Fer­nan­do Po­lice Sta­tion, fol­low­ing an in­ci­dent on Sun­day where See­gob­in al­leged­ly got in­to an al­ter­ca­tion with the vic­tim in the Palmiste area, and punched her in the face and beat her about the body.

The vic­tim man­aged to es­cape and made a re­port to the po­lice dur­ing which she pro­duced the pro­tec­tion or­der tak­en out against the ac­cused.

He is ex­pect­ed to ap­pear in the San Fer­nan­do Mag­is­trates' Court to an­swer the charge.
