The Geriatric Society of Trinidad and Tobago (GSTT) hosted a flu vaccination drive for the general public on Monday in front of West Bees Supermarket in Diego Martin.
The initiative was aimed at promoting public health awareness and increasing protection against seasonal influenza within the community, especially the vulnerable elderly population.
A total of 66 flu vaccines were administered during the drive.
The vaccines were supplied by the North West Regional Health Authority (NWRHA), Ministry of Health, whose support made this outreach possible.
Adding a notable highlight to the event, Diego Martin Central Member of Parliament, Symon de Nobriga, received his flu shot, encouraging residents to prioritise their health and get vaccinated.
Passers-by, shoppers and community members welcomed the opportunity to get vaccinated on the spot, with many expressing appreciation for the convenience of the outreach.
The GSTT extended thanks to the Ministry of Health and NWRHA for its continued support and commitment to promoting public health, prevention, and community well-being through such accessible initiatives.
