Po­lice are prob­ing the mur­der of a 39-year-old man in Ste Madeleine.

In­ves­ti­ga­tors said around 4.30 pm on Wednes­day, Gary Mo­han of Gol­con­da was at his busi­ness place, Chiney Wreck­ing Ser­vice at Cipero Road, Ste Madeleine, when a white Nis­san Ti­i­da drove by. The dri­ver of the ve­hi­cle slowed down and opened fire on Mo­han, who was stand­ing just out­side the busi­ness place.

The dri­ver sped off in the ve­hi­cle. Mo­han ran in­side but col­lapsed on the ground af­ter be­ing shot in the ab­domen.

Mo­han was tak­en to the San Fer­nan­do Gen­er­al Hos­pi­tal where he suc­cumbed to his in­juries while be­ing treat­ed.

The ve­hi­cle used by the at­tack­er was found aban­doned by po­lice a short dis­tance away from where the shoot­ing oc­curred.

In­ves­ti­ga­tors have no mo­tive for the mur­der.
