Newly appointed National Security Minister Marvin Gonzales has pledged to make the report on the tragic fire that claimed the lives of former MP Lisa Morris-Julian and two of her children public.

Morris-Julian, who was serving as the D’Abadie/O’Meara MP and a Minister in the Ministry of Education at the time, along with her daughter, 25-year-old Xianne Julian, and her six-year-old son, Jesiah Julian, tragically lost their lives in a fire that devastated their Farfan Street, Arima home on December 16.

“That report is on my desk, and I am currently reviewing its contents. I plan to have discussions with the Honourable Prime Minister at the appropriate time regarding the possibility of sharing its details with the public. I am still in the process of digesting the report,” Gonzales stated when asked by the media about the possibility of releasing the report.

He emphasised that one of his first actions in his new capacity will be to determine the status of the report and to explore ways of making it accessible to the public. —Otto Carrington
