Prime Min­is­ter Dr. Kei­th Row­ley and a min­is­te­r­i­al del­e­ga­tion will trav­el to George­town, Guyana to­day (Tues­day 19th No­vem­ber, 2024) to at­tend sev­er­al meet­ings with CARI­COM heads of gov­ern­ment and Prime Min­is­ter of In­dia, Shri Naren­dra Mo­di. The sum­mit will fo­cus on strength­en­ing co­op­er­a­tion in agri­cul­ture, food se­cu­ri­ty, health, phar­ma­ceu­ti­cals, sci­ence, and in­no­va­tion, ac­cord­ing to the Of­fice of the Prime Min­is­ter.

While in Guyana, Dr. Row­ley, as Chair­man of the CARI­COM Prime Min­is­te­r­i­al Sub-Com­mit­tee on Crick­et, will chair a meet­ing of the com­mit­tee. Lat­er this week, Dr. Row­ley, as the Lead Head for Crime and Se­cu­ri­ty, will par­tic­i­pate in CARI­COM’s sec­ond re­gion­al sym­po­sium on vi­o­lence as a pub­lic health is­sue. In April 2023, Trinidad and To­ba­go host­ed the first re­gion­al crime sym­po­sium to pro­mote di­a­logue and re­gion­al ac­tion for vi­o­lence re­duc­tion and crime pre­ven­tion.

The del­e­ga­tion ac­com­pa­ny­ing the Dr Row­ley in­cludes the Min­is­ter of For­eign and CARI­COM Af­fairs, Dr. Amery Browne, At­tor­ney Gen­er­al Regi­nald Ar­mour and Min­is­ter in the Min­istry of Le­gal Af­fairs, Renu­ka Sagram­s­ingh-Sook­lal. Min­is­ter of En­er­gy Stu­art Young, will act as Prime Min­is­ter un­til Dr. Row­ley’s re­turn.
