Police are investigating the murder of a 51-year-old man whose body was found on a mattress at his Sangre Grande home early on Saturday morning.
Police said neighbours reported hearing gunshots outside their home on Kessonarine Trace, Foster Road, at around 4.15 am and went to the scene.
On arrival they found the body of James Paul lying on a mattress in the living room with gunshots about his body.
A district medical officer was called in who declared Paul dead.
Investigators found nine spent 9 mm shells at the scene.
No motive was established for Paul's murder up to Sunday morning.
Officers of the Region II Homicide Bureau are continuing enquiries.
