Allister Guevarro has been appointed Commissioner of Police, effective June 18. The appointment follows the completion of the recruitment and selection process conducted by the Police Service Commission.
On April 12, 2024 the Commission advertised the vacancy for the office of Commissioner of Police.
Last Friday, the House of Representatives approved the nomination of Guevarro for the position. Following the approval, the Commission says it exercised its constitutional duty and promoted Guevarro—then Acting Senior Superintendent of Police—to the position of Commissioner of Police within the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS).
Yesterday, the Commission presented Guevarro with his official Letter of Promotion.
The TTPS will host a handing over parade this afternoon for Guevarro.
